Strahlenphysik für Mediziner
Dieser kurze Kurs soll den Medizinstudierenden der Universität Oldenburg einen Einblick in die Medizinische Strahlenphysik als Grundlage für die Strahlenmedizinischen Fächer geben. Behandelt wird die Erzeugung, Wirkung und Anwendung sogenannten “ionisierender” Strahlung in der Medizin. Das Wort “ionisierend” bedeutet dabei, dass die Wechselwirkung der Strahlung mit der Materie genügend Energie überträgt, um Elektronen aus den dem Atom zu entfernen, diese also zu “ionisieren”. Geschieht dies bspw. an Molekülen, so können diese zerstört oder deren Reaktivität mit anderen Molekülen verändert werden.

Fripon
An der Universität Oldenburg besteht außerdem eine Kooperation mit FRIPON, dem französischen Fireball Recovery and InterPlanetary Observation Network. FRIPON besteht zur Zeit (Dezember 2017) aus über 110 Kameras, die bereits den größten Teil des Himmels über Frankreich abdecken.
Eine FRIPON Kamera befindet sich auch auf dem Dach der Universität am Campus Wechloy. Weitere in der Umgebung sind in Planung um so Norddeutschland in das Netzwerk zu integrieren. Außerdem arbeiten wir gemeinsam an einem Projekt, die Daten der Feuerkugeln, die mit FRIPON detektiert wurden, wissenschaftlich auszuwerten.
