Nachfolgend soll betrachtet werden, welche Kompetenzen, aus dem niedersächsischen Kerncurriculum für Informatik des Sekundarbereichs I [1], mit diesem Projekt erworben werden können. Da sich dieses Projekt vorzugsweise im Ramen einer AG oder Projektwoche umsetzten lässt und das Vorwissen der SuS in solchen Gruppen oft sehr heterogen ist, wird der Fokus an dieser Stelle mehr auf die prozess- und inhaltsbezogenen Kompetenzen und weniger auf die einzelnen Lernfelder gesetzt.

Prozessbezogene Kompetenzen:

  • P1 Strukturieren und Modellieren

Dieses Projekt umfasst viele Teilbereiche. Verstehen des vorhandenen Systems, Zusammenbau der Komponenten, Programmierung des Arduinos, Modellierung des Gehäuses und auch die Planung der Bewässerung. Da alle diese Teilbereiche direkt voneinander abhängen, bedarf es einer guten Vorplanung und einer Zerlegung in geeignete Teilprobleme. [1, S.11] In diesem Zuge können Modelle, wie beispielsweise ein Schaltplan oder ein Flussdiagramm, entwickelt werden, welche das Problem und einen Lösungsidee darstellen.

  • P2 Implementieren

Die Programmierung mittels Arduino IDE, die Umsetzung des Gehäusedesign mit einer geeigneten Software und auch der Aufbau der Schaltung fällt in diesen Kompetenzbereich. Die SuS verwenden für die Implementierung geeignete Entwicklungsumgebungen und setzten ihre zuvor gemachten Problemlösestrategien in ausführbare Prozesse um. [1, S.11]

  • P3 Kommunizieren und Darstellen

Für dieses Projekt bieten sich verschiedene Möglichkeiten der Dokumentation an. Ob mittels Poster, einem Blog oder einer Ausarbeitung. In allen Fällen können die SuS den Ablauf und die Ergebnisse ihrer Arbeit dokumentieren und sachgerecht darstellen. [1, S.11]

  • P4 Begründen und Bewerten

Um am ende ein sinnvolles und funktionierendes Produkt zu erhalten, ist es nötig, dass die SuS in der Planungsphase verschiedene Möglichkeiten der Umsetzung gegeneinander abwägen und prüfen, ob die gewählte Problemlösestrategie auch zielführend ist.

Inhaltsbezogene Kompetenzen:

  • I1 Informationen und ihre Darstellung

Der Feuchtigkeitssensor in diesem Projekt liefert Daten, welche von den SuS interpretiert und verarbeitet werden müssen. Dabei unterscheiden sie zwischen Informationen und ihrer Repräsentation durch Daten. [1, S.13]

  • I2 Algorithmen

Damit der smarte Bewässerungscomputer zuverlässig arbeitet, müssen die SuS ein Algorithmus entwerfen, wodurch die Bewässerung gesteuert wird und müssen diesen auch systematisch auf Korrektheit testen. [1, S.13]

  • I3 Informatiksysteme

Mit der Planung des smarten Bewässerungscomputers konstruieren die SuS ein eigenes Informatiksystem aus Hard- und Software, was das Verständnis von anderen noch unbekannten Systemen erheblich erleichtern kann. [1, S.14]

Neben den aufgeführten Kompetenzen ermöglicht dieses Projekt ein guten Fachübergriff zur Stromlehre der Physik, zum Wasserkreislauf der Biologie und allgemein zum Gartenbau.
